Don’t imagine helping kids, do it.
Backyard pitching - where it started.
Been there.
Frank has played horseshoes for more than 50 years. From pitching at festivals to tournaments, for bragging rights and high stakes games, pitching at pristine courts to alleyways. It all started for Frank in his childhood using rebar for stakes.
Build it.
In 2012-2013, Frank worked with the City of Lindsay to install new courts in his hometown. His young adult sons and several of their friends were the muscle providing the labor. Longtime friend Robert Cocagne, donated his talents and drafted the plans. Frank was grateful to all who helped install world class courts in his hometown.
It’s time.
Now, Frank pitches at Centennial Park in Tulare. Children would often ask him what he was doing. He would explain and would let the children try to toss his Snyders.
Fast forward, Frank told his wife, Cathy, “Let’s do it.” It was then time to help revitalize the courts so that benefit tournaments and pitching lessons could happen. Now players “Pitch for a Cause” to support the Tulare Boy’s & Girls Club, and other community members are using the courts helping to keep the sport alive.
